In high-end fabrication, such as wind power transport equipment, engineers often encounter trapezoidal or variable-width plates. Rolling a plate that is 1.5m at one end and 2.5m at the other presents a unique challenge: Asymmetrical Loading.
The Torque Imbalance Problem
When a plate has uneven widths, the resistance encountered by the rollers is not uniform across the machine's axis. Without precision control, this imbalance leads to:
- Axial Drift: The plate tends to "walk" toward the narrower side.
- Uneven Pre-bending: The wider section requires significantly more pressure to achieve a clean edge.
SLM's Engineering Solution
Our heavy-duty Universal 3-Roll series handles high-tensile Q355 steel by utilizing independent hydraulic pressure regulation. By adjusting the horizontal and vertical displacement of the upper roll, we can compensate for the width differential, ensuring the 15-meter long workpiece maintains a perfect cylindrical or conical trajectory throughout the cycle.
Material Integrity: Handling Q355
Q355 steel demands higher yield-point management. Our system calculates the exact pressure required for the 30mm thickness, ensuring that even at the widest point (2.5m), the machine delivers consistent grain-flow deformation without overloading the drive motors.
